The Lion Safari LT's solar panel converts sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity that passes through the Safari LT charge controller, this electricity is stored inside the Safari LT's battery.  The inverter turns the electricity into (AC) power which is used to power various devices.

Question:  How to recharge the Safari LT:  The unit can be rechared by plugging into a standard wall outlet, vehicle DC (cigarette lighter) output or by using the solar panel.  The panels makes "on-the-go recharging" very easy.  It takes approsimately 3 1/2 hours to fully charge the unit using a wall plug, 4 hours using the vehicle DC (cigarette lighter) output and 2 to 3 hours to charge using 2 solar panel in optimal conditions.

The Safari LT's battery holds a charge for up to 1 year.

The Safari LT's Lifespan:  The lifespan of the Safari LT Portable Generator is determined by the life cycle rating of the battery that powers it.  Every time a battery is completely drained and fully recharged, one life cycle is added.  Lion Energy uses Lithium Ion Phosphate batteries which are the longest lasting Lithium batteries on the market. This means this generator is rated for 1000+ life cycles. That is 4 to 6 more than the average generator on the market. In an extremely high-use scenario, completely discharging and then fully recharging the generator once a day, it would last for 7 years.

You can harness the power of the sun with the Lion 100-Watt 12 Volt Portable Solar Panel.  A rugged piece of tempered glass surrounded with a rust proof double walled aluminum enclosure.  Adjustable legs allow you to keep your panel pointed directly at the sun for optimal solar charging.

For use with the Lion Safari LE Portable Solar Unit or other brand solar units that requires a 12 Volt, 100 Watt solar panel.  You can link up to 4 panel but please remember to only connect solar panels of the SAME voltage and model number.
